Weinland, the Media, and another Date

False Prophet Ronald Weinland was in Vancouver, Washington yesterday. He spent about 10 minutes reading the latest post on his blog and discussing his upcoming engagement to speak at ideaCity in June. He followed up with a mention of visiting a website that discussed this in a catty fashion and accused Weinland of self promotion. Obviously written by a bitter person. According to Google, the only person who has posted any commentary on this event is Thielogical Bob. Sometimes I find Bob a bit smug, but never catty. Nor did his post mention anything about self promotion. I wonder what Ronnie is smoking.

Weinland claims this as a sounding of the Sixth Thunder (growing recognition of Weinland as a Witness). I have a feeling that Moses Znaimer is having Ron on as a bit of comic relief from his other 49 speakers. The Sixth Thunder will sound as loudly as it did when Ronnie was on Australian TV back in November. During the Australian program, Weinland was on about 5 minutes of the 27-minute program, and the rest of the time was spent criticizing him. Part of Ron's participation was clips of him walking city streets and through some kind of industrial site. The closest thing to a promotion of his book was a couple of brief clips of the cover of his book, with no information given on how to obtain a copy.

I won't be in attendance at ideaCity. The admission at the door is $4000 plus GST. With 50 speakers, that works out to $80 to hear Weinland. I can listen to him longer for free and even that's too much money.

We haven't heard much prophecy from the False Prophet since he rebegan his job in December. During the sermon he discussed that planning for the Feast of Tabernacles this fall is underway, with the list of sites to be made available once the elders have had a chance to review it for accuracy. He then followed up by stating he didn't know if it would be possible to even have one.

The graphic shown to the right is from a Google search that returned a sponsored link for Weinland's site. Looks like a prophecy with a date to me. The first five trumpets will have to sound very quickly if PKG is to have a feast in the fall and then complete the downfall of the US with the sounding of the Fifth Trumpet. But according to his book, the downfall was to occur no later than June 21, only 34 days from now.

I wonder if the speedy death from the inside with which Weinland cursed me 21 weeks ago will happen before the downfall of America.

AAARGGH

I hate the new blogger comment system. It SUCKS. It won't take Anon/URL posting, it won't let me log in with my Google ID and it WON'T refresh properly when I try to log in with my WP PH account. Yes, I've added blogger.com and blogspot.com to the exceptions list in FF. I've tried loading the tab in the IE rendering engine. Mike, is there any way at all you can disable the new commenting and go back to the old commenting? That could be why comments are down.....I'm fairly tech-savvy, and even I'm pulling my hair out over this one.

That's also why I haven't been commenting at Living Armstrongism, either; I'll type up a post, try to save it, preview it, whatever, and the clipboard in Vista is driving me to distraction.

Anyway. Whew. Let's see if this posts, shall we??

Weinland's reset the Google ads for Timeline Two. This proves he's only in it for the money. Znaimer is pretty much a Canadian cross between Murdoch and Hefner, if that provides a clearer cultural context for Americans. Rotten Ron probably hopes he can snag a sugar daddy (or mommy) or two from the event, to shore up his now-tithes-deficient retirement fund/Swiss bank account. Fortunately, rich people don't often get rich by being stupid.

OK that worked --- load the page in IE tab, then sign in to GMail AGAIN. (The new comments system isn't porting over the login from the old comments system, apparently.) Arggghhh.

Do you think Ron Weinland will even mention the date in June?

Let's hope that June 21 drives a nail into the coffin of his propheteering (or profiteering).

June 21?? June 8, 2008, was supposed to be the tell-tale sign that Rotten Ron and the missus were the Two True Witlesses:

"If by Pentecost I’m just going to make this real clear to everyone. If by Pentecost it is not powerfully and abundantly clear that there has been a great deal of destruction that will clearly encompass a third of all plant life in the US and at least the clear results of this mingled with blood the death of very much animal life and the beginning of large numbers of human life then I will stop preaching. Just so all the critics and everyone out there will understand. I am true to my word in these things. OK? And for all the critics if by the end of July and for most likely around Pentecost if nothing has clearly caused great destruction and death I will make it very clear that I was a false prophet. I will do exactly what I said I would do on all of those interviews that I have held; to do less, aah well, would be quite insane. (Weinland R. Three More Weeks–quote from near the 1 hour 28 minute point from the CGPFK website version. Sermon given March 29, 2008)."

Listen to the original quote from the March 22, 2008 sermon, if you don't believe me.

Also, Witness the Two Revolving Timelines of Ronald Weinland.

Will Rotten Ron head for a third timeline after Christmas this year? If it keeps even a third of the tithe dollars rolling in, I'm willing to lay even odds that he will. Either that, or he'll go the way that Armstrong did in '72, saying it was the church's fault the Great Trib never started, and the "never set dates". (Unfortunately for Ron, we've got proof he DID set dates.)

Now, see, this is more like it. (Re: commenting.)

But I'm just a crotchety old grump (not a GRUMP, just a grump) who is sometimes resistant to change. ;-)

Your right Purple,
the embedded comment form has some kind of string error. Even I have to click the "please try again" button on my own blog. I have been thinking of going back to the old style and I see mike has beat me to it.

As for RW crowing about his inclusion in Ideacity:
It is promoted as a gathering of 50 of the brightest minds in the world, and that really strokes Ron's ego. I wonder if he can be proud of his inclusion and be humble at the same time.

I agree with Mike that Moses Znaimer is probably throwing in Ronald Weinland as comic relief. The arts and culture are very important to Moses, and I am surprised that he has every form of entertainer except a comedian.

Or does he?

I wonder if Ron will stomp off the stage like he did in Franklin so many years ago. The calibre of people attending Idea city is of the type that will talk and laugh, but they will do so quietly out of respect for the event. I think I would like to watch Ron's reaction to high calibre "mocking".

If Ron leads with, "My wife and I are the Two Witnesses of Revelation," he'll have them rolling in the isles! That would be a great opening for a 20 minute comedy set.

Mark asked: Do you think Ron Weinland will even mention the date in June? Weinland has already said that what's said in his book has changed because of the timeline change. That was in December. In July of last year, he said that the timeline changes hadn't changed the book at all.

I've looked at the "IdeaCity" webpage for the upcoming 2009 show and find it rather shocking that they are actually going to put Ron on it with all those rather smart, sophisticated, intelectual, and provocotive people. It is actually boardering on mean to put him in thier midst on such a show. After hearing several dozen articulate and bright individuals talk about everything from NASA to Architectural Innovation, then along comes Ron with his "well, all the other topics you're hearing here tonight are good, but they are irrelevant now as you see armagedon is going to destroy all these people in the next 2+ years..."

That's just cruel... If he comes of looking like a fool amoung the bright bulbs it's gonna hurt his church as he is pumping it all up on his website.

Is this get to-gethor supposed to happen before June and the final end of the USA or are we already supposed to be fallen as a nation?

Since ideaCity is June 17-19, I guess that Ron could speak and then the 2nd through 5th trumpets could blow on June 20-21.

But again, ILFPRW backed off on the prediction on the last page of his book back in December. As I point out in the post, he's now giving himself until the end of the year. And when the end of the year comes, he'll move out the date again.

ronnie needs to take a lesson from his idol (HWA) and bump the time line out a time cycle each time he screws up! 19 years gives the cultmister some time to breathe.

""well, all the other topics you're hearing here tonight are good, but they are irrelevant now as you see armagedon is going to destroy all these people in the next 2+ years..."

Weinland's too smart for that. Two-tiered information operates in cults, remember? He'll give them the soft sell, that's for sure, the McConnell show (and the James Whale show and the Edge AM show) taught him that, if nothing else did.

I can see him throwing in a few verses from Revelation, with maybe a "time is short" speech. But definitely no dates, not for the "uncalled masses".

He might blather on a bit about BI...although I doubt it, since (the Jewish) Znaimer would probably personally kick Weinland's ass into the Great White Throne Judgement, if "the lost ten tribes of Israel" insanity was even broached. I hope so, at any rate.

Definitely nothing about tithing or "the church" to the masses. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, maybe a few sprinkles of "your minds are being opened (by all this other stuff you're hearing here today), and now let gawd open them to ME..."

Yeah, no. Whatever way this plays out, ideaCity is NOT going to be a good thing for Weinland.

What would really, really, really, REALLY kick ass though, is if they had an ex-member of the church (or any pre-apocalyptic cult, really) give a spiel right after!! 8-O

And sadly, no mention in the bio, that this is Timeline #2:

2009 Presenter Full Presenter List
Ronald Weinland
Armageddon Forecaster

Ronald Weinland is the author of two books, which have stirred up great controversy in over 160 nations.

For years, he has been warning of a global economic collapse that will result in the complete collapse of the U.S. dollar. In 2008: God's Final Witness, he warns that the year 2008 was the last witness and warning that God would give mankind before thrusting us into an age that will become engulfed in a nuclear World War III. Although many believe this message, many have also attacked, criticized and maligned both the message and the messenger.

"Weinland continues to undauntedly and unabashedly affirm that human kind has reached the end of his allotted time for self-rule, and that as a true end-time prophet of the God of Abraham, he has been sent with the message of these books. This last age is declared to have begun on December 14, 2008 and will end on May 27, 2012."

Say WHY he's being criticized, Znaimer!!! Although I've gotta wonder how the "prophet of the God of Abraham" got in there --- maybe the organizers think Weinland's just another Messianic Jewish nutbar?? No mention the church, nor its past affiliation with Armstrongism, sadly.

Anyone gonna be in Toronto around the end of June?? If I was still living there, I'd hand out flyers at the door, with relevant info and website addresses, but as it is, I am unfortunately nowhere even close to the Big Smoke right now.
