Ron's Total Resolve

Ronald Weinland Total Resolve Cruise Ship
In his Oct 4, 2007 Last Great Day sermon entitled "Total Resolve", False Prophet Ronald Weinland exhorted his members to show Total Resolve. He demanded that the members send in their second tithe to finance his book promotion since there wouldn't be an organized Feast of Tabernacles in 2008 as a consequence of the Great Tribulation. (Ron said the same thing about the 2009 FoT during the organized 2008 FoT, but planning is underway for yet another Feast this fall.)

Near the end of the "Total Resolve" sermon, he exhorted his followers:
Brethren, please, please, please understand that now we’re to pour everything we can into what we’re doing. And that’s between now [Oct, 2007] and January [2008]. Think about your life. Think about what you’re doing.

A week later, on October 11, 2007, he posted the following on his blog:

This new post is being made over my new satellite system with Inmarsat. After the Feast of Tabernacles was concluded on Oct. 4, the following Sunday my wife and I flew to Istanbul, Turkey, where we boarded a cruise ship to begin our cruise that we announced during the Feast.

Yesterday we were in Izmir, Turkey, that is the location of ancient Smyrna, which the apostle John wrote about in Revelation in the message to the seven churches (church eras). We took a tour that took us about an hour drive north of Ismir to the old city of Pergamum (another of the seven churches). The ruins of these ancient cities is quite profound when you consider they had no modern equipment to build the kinds of structures, that are even a marvel to modern day engineers and builders. Both John and Paul had been in these places and it was rather a strange feeling to walk in some of the same areas (now in ruins) that were so majestic in their day.

Today we are in port at Athens, Greece, and we will have the opportunity to visit the ancient city of Corinth.

On Oct 20, 2007 he posted an update on his trip, letting his followers know that he hadn't fallen overboard:

Today we are spending the Sabbath in Barcelona, Spain. We will be staying here until Monday morning when we will fly back to the U.S. The internet service on the ship was at a snails pace so I was not able to do much on the internet as I had hoped to make some postings to this site while we were traveling. The last I was able to make a post was in Athens since I was using my new satellite system, but after Athens I couldn’t us it any longer. I was on the wrong side of the ship from that time on since our side only faced to the north and the satellites were in the south. So much for technology, but obviously if I was on land there would not have been a problem.

This cruise was likely the 12-day Classic Mediterranean Cruise on NCL's Norwegian Jewel. The Norwegian Cruise Line still offers this cruise itinerary on a different vessel which includes the following ports of call: Istanbul; Ephesus (Izmir); Athens (Piraeus); Dubrovnik; Venice; Naples; Rome (Civitavecchia); Barcelona. The 2009 price of the cruise depends on the cabin type with prices ranging up from $1149 per person for an ocean view cabin with a porthole. But a porthole probably would not have allowed Ron to play with his satellite phone. A room with a balcony more conducive to satellite phoning is $1619 per person and a suite is $1799 per person. A check of airfare from Cincinnati to Istanbul shows the 2009 price to be about $800 per person. These are 2009 prices but I expect that the 2007 prices would have been similar. This vacation for both Ron and Laura together with two nights in a hotel room in Barcelona probably cost over $5000 after adding in other incidentals such as transfers to the cruise ship, drinks, taxis, tours($59 per person for Pergamon), and other miscellaneous expenses. But let's say that he managed to get discounts and the vacation was only $4000.

Ron gave an explanation for the purpose of this cruise:
With the heavy schedule of traveling during the summer and then the daily pace at the Feast of Tabernacles, Laura and I were both very drained afterward. Each year the Feast season has been this way with the kind of schedule we have, and that is the reason we try to take a couple of weeks off after the Feast. This year was by far the most draining so this trip is proving to be very rejuvenating to us.

Let's review. Ron and Laura needed to spend thousands of dollars to recover from the stresses of traveling by traveling yet more. They couldn't have possibly have rejuvenated from these stresses by hanging out in their $381,000 mansion on a country club golf course for a couple of weeks. Makes total sense -- as do all things about Weinland. Total Sense about Ron's Total Resolve. It's Totally Amazing that COG-PKG members agree with the sense of entitlement that Ron feels -- after all he and Laura are the two witnesses.

Just as it's totally amazing that it's now the 11th week since Ron cursed me to speedily die from the inside, but I'm still here pointing out his contradictions.

Are you really in a hurry to die? Did you ever think that from now to Pentecost 2012 is speedily to God? Enjoy what time you have left, you pathetic, mocking lunatic!!

Anonymous said...

Is that you - Ronnie?

If we all make it to 2012, I will make sure that I am in Jerusalem on Pentecost to record your death of which I doubt, unless you prearrange your own death. Secondly, it is more likely that you will be still standing with the 2nd witness as the eve of Pentecost comes to a close, and the Israel authorities pick both of you up and declare that you will be institutionalized at that very moment. This will be worth recording and placing for the world to view on the internet. I believe that it probably should be placed on this very site. However, I am thinking that you will probably come to your senses by 2012, and declare yourself wrong, but that is a battle to overcome pride, so I will assume that you will never say that you are a false prophet. Now, who is the pathetic, mocking lunatic that continues to preach after his prophecies have failed and did not come to pass? Remember Ron, these words came from your lips and were the inspired word of God. But guess what Ron, none of your predictions/prophecies have come to pass, yet you state that we are pathetic because we do not believe you and your truths, even though you were wrong about the timing of every one of your stated prophecies.

It was stated in your book that the 2 witnesses will know when they receive their power and this will be confirmation that the 1260 day countdown has begun.

Ron, can you honestly state to your followers and to your listening audience that God has given you “POWER” and confirmation that you and the wife are his two witnesses?

To Anon 6:40-
Thanks for your comment. I hadn't had a good laugh all day.

No, I don't think that God would define 3 1/2 years from now as speedily. But your God (Ron) would define it so. Even though he said in his sermon of Dec 20 that my death would happen speedily, not slowly. Also, that God would be working with me first.

Tell me, if Pentecost of 2012 is speedily, then what's slowly? And by working with me first, is that before or after the billions who are to die in the Great Tribulation? And when will it be "Great"?

Your closing 4 words are particularly ironic.

A day at the spa? $100.00

A game at the stadium? $200.00

An arguement between a logical, strong-minded person and a pathetic, washed-up, defensive false prophet? PRICELESS!!!

Yeah, that's what I call great reading there!

Okay, Ron. You are done. No more is needs to be said. That is all there is to it. It is final! You are a false prophet. You can't have your cake and eat it too!

How long are you going to try and claim that this is the Great Tribulation where Jesus said would be like no other time in history nor would there be again? It still has not reached as bad as the Great Depression yet according to you we are 2.5 months into it (for a second time!) Also, where are your powers? They are not there! You have no powers! Soon you will have nothing as your followers all fall away and your mortgage goes into default - then you will know what it is to suffer.

Will you throw yourself on the Mercy Seat of God then? You said you would do this if the things you said would happen did not come.

NEWS FLASH ~ They did not come - they did not happen! You better hope that God will still allow you anywhere near His Mercy Seat!!!
You are a pathaetic dribble of a man and this is why I wrote the song, "Rantin' Ronnie" as a parady of "Rockin' Robin".

Your dear friend Mike(ekmiks)I believe will be posting it online to further spread the message of your falsities.

I say this not in anger but as a matter of pity for you. You need to give it up while you can still hope to have a normal life in time when people forget about all of this in a few years. If you keep going, you will never be able to hide from the disgrace which will follow you to every corner of the Earth!

Ron, do the right thing and live up to your own words. Put this all to rest and just quit. You will feel better in the long run and we will all then simply leave you alone. So, what do you say Ronnie boy? Are you ready to call it quits? Or do we need to throw this all into the next gear?

It's your call, dude.
Signed, Mike Allen

I think you touched a nerve with someone in his flock. It is either ILFPRW himself or one who truly adores him. Honestly, I don't think his people can wrap their minds around the fact that he lives high on the hog, jet setting around the world, all the while insisting that his followers give and give and give some more, till their knuckles bleed, all so that RW and his wife can live in luxury on the company dime.

You know what? If someone is stupid enough to fall for his load of dog doodie, then they can play around in it all they want to. They will reap what they sow.

"Ron, can you honestly state to your followers and to your listening audience that God has given you “POWER” and confirmation that you and the wife are his two witnesses?"

It certainly appears that he has the power to keep the simpletons in check.

I never read anything about luxury vacations in the book of Revelation for the two witnesses, especially since time is so short and there's still so much work to do.

Anonymous said...

"....especially since time is so short and there's still so much work to do."

Time has been "short" for the Armstrongists for seventy-five years now.

Three-quarters of a century, and that Kingdom ain't come yet. The definition of insanity is to keep making the same mistakes, expecting a different result.

Not that I think Ron and the missus are insane. Not a bit of it. Crazy like foxes, yes, but insane? Not a chance.

They are only in the false prophecy game for the money. They only need to fleece enough sheeple, to get themselves a little retirement nest egg, so they can disappear into the woodwork (or more likely into Wrist, Germany) once they age out of the workforce.

(Not that either one of them has done an honest day's work in their lives. But you get the picture.)

I enjoy reading the comments posted here, but I have to say, and maybe this is just me, but it's a little aggravating having so many contributors named "Anonymous".

It would be nice to put a name with a personality, know what I mean? The word anonymous can be defined as "lacking individuality".

Leave the anonymity to people like anonymous 6:40, who has a good reason to stay in the shadows.

Mike (Don't Drink the Flavor Aid) said...

Thanks for your comment Angel. I agree.

And it's not that hard to give an identity. When typing in your comment, click on the "Name/URL" button and type a name in the Name box. And if that's too much trouble, typing a name somewhere in the comment is OK. Doesn't have to be your real name, just some kind of consistent identity.

"pathetic, mocking lunatic"

Wow. I didn't know you bark at the moon, Mike. I learn something new every day. But I don't believe this one.

I finally got to listen to RW's latest last night. Although I only listened to the first fifteen minutes, I came to the conclusion RW is not putting any importance on March 14th. He named off a long list of dates he is going to preach on. If the shock and horror were to happen on the 14th, he wouldn't be able to preach.

I guess his philosophy is to pretend he didn't say the things he said.

Jesus said "behold I come quickly" and here we are 2000 years later. So if you live to be 90, Ron still wins.

angel said...

Ron only wins if you buy his excuses and stay on the hook.

Mike (Don't Drink the Flavor Aid) said...

After rereading VW's comment, I think he meant it tongue-in-cheek.

Weinland would also win if I lived to be 150. He's already indicated his flexibility on the definition of "soon".

Hey, guess what I just heard! Mike McConnel, on WLW Cincinnati just said that Weinland was going to be on his talk show in about an hour from now. It's 9:15am here in Cincinnati now, and it's Mar. 6th. Wonder what he will say?

Anonymous said...

just heard the McConnel interview. Very funny! Mike asked RW what about the other prophets out there?
RW's reply: "we'll just have to see if there prophesies come true. That is how you determine if they are false or not."

Update for RW...Hello! Yours have not been coming true and you just make excuses for it!

Ronnie has a new post on his website - Check it out! He declares that we are indeed in the tribulation and that Pentecost 2012 is still the day of glory, but the tribulation will become more difficult for mankind as the next 3 years unravels. Yea, the tribulation has been kind of "slow" since it's start on December 14, 2008.

I have just started following this guy, and he seems more than a joke than anything else. His new post is quiet amusing though...

The Insane Lying False Prophet Ron Weinland states in his blog that "At the end of 2008, the final 3 1/2 years commenced. Mankind has already received his last warning and it was God’s final witness."

If that's the case, then why is he still at it? His work should be done. Oh yeah, of course, duh, he needs to keep going to fund his lavish vacations and lifestyle.

Yes, it was meant to be tongue in cheek. -He wins in front of his congregation-

You know, a thousand years is as a day... bla bla bla... "insert apologist quote from COG leader of choice here"

Don't forget the cost of his new satellite equipment and the associated air time.

Phone calls are $1.50 per min. while internet use can range anywhere from $5.75 to $10.50 per min. depending on your location and the amount of bandwidth that you need.

Oh it's so hard to be humble...

I would like to thank you for your website, very right to the point and interesting. I read the first book and thought something was strange about half way through it. Had to look up his name and guess what? I found you, now i know the truth, you almost had me ronnie

Timmy, thanks for your comment. I'm glad you questioned and hope you'll continue to question.

After investigating a little more about this guy i found out , WOW what a nut! this guy is supposed to be one of the end time witnesses, nothing he says is following through. His time lines have no authority what so ever! We need more people like Mike watching out for us. Mike has certainly done his homework. Two thumbs up and a pat on the back. Thanks Mike , keep up the good work, and keep me informed.

Timmy J, I'm curious as to how you happened to get tripped up by the False Prophet. Was it any chance by a Google Ad? If so, do you remember the web site, or if you were doing a search what the search terms were?

People have a need to feel special, to feel protected, to feel that they are apart of something bigger than themselves, and that they have the keys to hidden knowledge that the rest of are unworthy to know.

As long as there are such people, people who react emotionally rather than act rationally, there will always be people like RW waiting to give them what they want, and to give them, the false prophets what they want - their unquestioning loyalty, obedience and above all - their tithes and offerings!.

I have a strong belief in God and Jesus as mankind knows them through history books and I have had my questions about their existences and returns as well. I have had the opportunity to indulge (accidently) into the dimension of having a glimpse of God, I am a victim to carbon monoxide poisoning (I died and lived again) and declare that I challenged God to show himself because the thought surfaced as I noticed I was out of body.

I have had CO poisoning and lived to tell about it.

My family calls me the devil because of the abilities I have today due to that experience. I don't declare to be a prophet but do declare other abilities beyond your comprehension. Has God cursed me due to my challenging him or am I now gifted.

I slipped the grip of God and kicked the devil's ass as I fought like never before to live!

I will repeat, Jesus is returning but not with destruction, with his love and our Father's love.

God is energy, God is the entire power of the universe, anyone can harness even an iota of that power, I have.

I am about to write a book on this experience and what continues to happen today. I will leave it with these words of the power I speak about.

levitation, shape shifting, channeling past lives, revealing visions right in front of you, I defy gravity.

I have seen all the people that have lived on earth and passed on, they are all asleep, no one is in heaven besides Jesus. We are all about to be lifted dead or alive and judged with love.

Who are you to even have the slightest idea of you entering heaven? You are no better than your neighbor you hypocrit.

Mike (Don't Drink the Flavor Aid) said...

Whom are you calling a hypocrite? And where was the discussion of heaven on this post?

Just had to read '2008 - God's Final Witness' for myself, though it was a struggle.
Just how much this self-deluded man takes on himself - what with so freely, generously, and liberally interpreting for all of us what is supposedly "in the mind of God" is astonishing.
I have made the decision that I will sleep. I now have no desire whatsoever to live 'beyond' my physical body - and certainly not in the strange, vague, and downright bizarre "world of tomorrow" this man paints. I will choose the way of permanent peace in the nothingness of death over existing in the Fascist Male-Run Theocracy he describes.
He states very plainly that the 144,000 are all men! So, according to him, in the Kingdom Come, women - no matter how sainted, good, or righteous - were apparently NEVER going to be given the chance to rule in the coming Kingdom. I've had all the living under the heels of men I can take - for all eternity. No thanks, Ron! (BTB - the 'other' witness, it's clearly written is a MAN - or is Ron claiming that part of Revelations is a lie?

I for one am hoping for God to step in, like ASAP. I'm sick of this world and all the ignorant masses tearing it to shreds or sitting on their thumbs while politicians and "businessmen" (including this Ron character, note the "inc." at the end of his "church" name) take our hard earned money. I checked out the website and almost downloaded the books, curiosity got the best of me though, particularly the first trumpet sounding in '08. Maybe I do things a little backwards, but if a flag goes up and it's not green I research, in my mind that is God's voice leading us from evil. Didn't take long to wind up here and for that I am very thankful. This site is very informative and the user comments are freaking hilarious! Thank you for setting the record straight.
BTW I found Ronnie's banner with the footer "adchoices" at accuweather.com. Beware all who wish to see the weekend weather forecast that you don't get brainwashed! And always, ALWAYS research before you decide, that's the internet's intended purpose. Google is a verb, think about it.

If the earth is 4.5 Billion years old (which has been proven), then a "speedily death" is quite hazy as far as how long "speedily" is. Could be 1 million years?
