ReFail Ron's Sixth Thunder Still Silent

False Prophet Ronald Weinland might as well be Rodney Dangerfield, who didn't get any respect either. The Australian ABC has made available online a transcript of their Compass program episode featuring Weinland. As I expected, Refail Ron didn't come out so well. Keep in mind that this interview was recorded back in January, and it still holds true into Weinland's second timeline.

One of my favorite quotes in the program is from psychologist Susan Tanner:
"Apocalyptic thinking can be very useful to people who need to feel a sense of control, and that they therefore feel calm because they know what’s going to happen. Living with uncertainty, living with a question mark is the hardest thing to do for all human beings. We like to know what’s going to happen."

In response to the question of the dangers of apocalyptic thinking here's a quote which I hope is wrong in Weinland's case:
"There are massive risks when someone has extreme delusional thinking. There are risks to the individual. And there are obviously dangers to other people and that can be hundreds or thousands of other people, when someone is totally controlled by their delusional thinking. And you know we have lots of examples of that in our history. " So far I haven't seen any hints that Weinland would pull a Jim Jones and I hope that doesn't change. Even so, his followers are being damaged both in their wallets and their psyches.

Basically the Compass program used Weinland as a backdrop to a general discussion on apocalyptic thinking. While not all details are correct (they kept referring to the False Prophet as a Pentecostal), the main thrust of the piece was on target. This interview with the False Prophet was definitely no fulfillment of the Weinland's Sixth Thunder. "The Sixth Thunder is the growing revelation of God’s end-time witnesses. That revelation is that I am the spokesman of God’s two end-time prophets—the spokesman of His two end-time witnesses." ("2008 God's Final Witness", page 109)

A great aspect of the program was that it didn't promote Weinland's book. The entire transcript of "Apocalyse Now?" is available for your reading. Please stop back by after you've read it and leave a comment with your impression. Note: Stones of Foresight by Hindsight has independently found the transcript, his impressions here.

Thanks Mike. I always go to your blog when I logon to the internet, just to see if there is anything new on the ILFP. I was disappointed when I found out I could not download the Compass program, but the transcript is just and good.
As for 60 minutes, I see a program about Ron after the CID-IRS lays a charge.

Confirming The Sequence Of End Times Events

The clearest explanation of End Times events I have found.

Ron is not mentioned.

Dill Weed, I understand that while you recognize Weinland as a false prophet, you still have an apocalyptic mindset.

This blog is about exposing Weinland for what he is. It is not about promoting alternative tribulation scenarios. As far as Jack Kelley, as far as I'm concerned he's a false prophet like 100% of all the other prophets unless and until he's proven to be a true prophet. He may not be as destructive as Weinland and he certainly isn't as specific -- nevertheless he and others of his ilk are not to be promoted here.

And There Was Silence in Heaven For About Half an Hour…
while on earth Ron rambled on for about two hours.

Rambling Ron reiterated the “amazing” things that have been happening, most, if not all of these amazing things were unnoticed by Weinland believers because these things were not only invisible to them, but were also “incomprehensible”, as well. Fortunately, Ron is there to point out and explain these things (in a very general way) and then tell everyone just how amazing these things are (yawn). And he was able to do it all in slighlty less than two hours. JWs, put a time limits on talks so you knew how long you’d have to suffer with a boring or unprepared speaker. God only gave Ron the talk the day before he delivered it so….

What were some of these amazing things? Well, the Abomionation that causes desolation that had been plaguing the COG since 1994 was finally, some 18 years later, over. Phew! Also, greed and envy existing in people and society were ‘amazing and incomprehensible.’ There is the financial crisis, the trouble with the big three automakers, and pagan holidays celebrated by Christianity also. He did not mention anything about the inauguration, but mentioned nukes going off.

Observations: Ron speaks very generally. He uses generalities to create a sense of urgency and fear. He seems to speak as much to convince himself of what he believes as others. Is it to much to expect a prophet to speak with clarity and specificity that speaks for itself?

Ron says we are in the ½ hour of Silence in Heaven. So, we’re back where we started in April. O.K., let’s see what happens. I’m still not sending any tithes in, but I’ll be an interested observer for a while.

How will the wheels come off?

It should be interesting to hear his future talks as nothing continues to happen. When Ron explains why his ‘prophecies’ haven’t happened he is explaining as much to himself as he is to others. I don’t doubt Ron believes what he says.

In having to reconcile the conflict betweeen reality and what he believes, I believe he will ultimately realize he is not a prophet much less one of The Two Witnesses of Revelation.

I read Dill Weed's link. The apocalypse is a hot topic even in mainstream Christianity today as anyone who watches Daystar or TBN knows.

I think Kelley's interpretation is good from one standpoint. There are a lot of people who make outrageous claims, and they expect us to believe that such claims are Bible-based. But, such people are rank amateurs, as Kelley proved.

I am undecided about the apocalypse. The Jewish cumulative calendar, based on the mathmatical geneological calculations from the OT has, I think, about 250 years to run yet before we reach year 6,000. And, that's of interest only if the 6,000 years for man theory is valid. Also, the magnetic polarity of planet Earth is thought by scientists to be in the process of reversing. It's a gradual process which will require decades to manifest its effects, some of which certain ones are bound to compare to conditions outlined in the book of Revelation. The earth has stopped wobbling on its axis as of about 15years ago.

I never have understood how people from inside the Armstrong movement can be so cocksure that the tribulation is always right around the corner. But they are as serious about it now as most of us were who left when 1975 failed to be the date. Perpetual failure doesn't bother them one bit. If anything, it actually seems to reassure them.

BB:

Maybe the explanation for the apocalyptic interest is that provided by Psychologist Susan Tanner in the TV program and quoted in this post. People looking for certainty in the future even if that certainty is negative and from an uncertain source.

Here's a better explanation of all the apocalypses, both the canonical one, and the non-canonical ones:

It's psychological. The "apocalypse" is an internal change you have to go through, not some literalized external the-sky-is-falling eschaton.

That's my current understanding, at least.

i dont want to blame or using a better word judge any person, but i beleive and trust only one thing on earth and that is God's word and live for Jesus, now what was interesting to the book of ronald is he not once mentions the rapture that will hapen before the tribulation...(please read Choo Thomas's testimony Heaven is so Real it will reveal the truth of Jesus second comming) which is clear as daylight in revelations, he doesnt mention the mark of the beast worn either on the fore head or left hand and also no antichrist no version of the eternal pit and also no Heaven thats against God's Word the Bible!. and yet he seems to talk alot about God but if i am not mistaken didnt God say in His word that only through Jesus Christ will you know the Father..alot is missing in his prophecies and sorry to say i beleive it is misleading and may repel people from having a relationship with Christ.

I am wondering what RW may possible do when he is backed into the corner and relizes he has no way out of his own web that he has weaved. I don't think there is any humor there because it could potentially becoome dangerous.
Or, maybe he will just slip away to Switzerland to his millions stashed in Euros.
