For a description of yesterday's sermon, I'm going to turn it over to a commenter, using a comment left on my last post.
And There Was Silence in Heaven For About Half an Hour…
while on earth Ron rambled on for about two hours.
Rambling Ron reiterated the “amazing” things that have been happening, most, if not all of these amazing things were unnoticed by Weinland believers because these things were not only invisible to them, but were also “incomprehensible”, as well. Fortunately, Ron is there to point out and explain these things (in a very general way) and then tell everyone just how amazing these things are (yawn). And he was able to do it all in slightly less than two hours. JWs put a time limits on talks so you knew how long you’d have to suffer with a boring or unprepared speaker. God only gave Ron the talk the day before he delivered it so….
What were some of these amazing things? Well, the Abomination that causes desolation that had been plaguing the COG since 1994 was finally, some
Observations: Ron speaks very generally. He uses generalities to create a sense of urgency and fear. He seems to speak as much to convince himself of what he believes as others. Is it to much to expect a prophet to speak with clarity and specificity that speaks for itself?
Ron says we are in the ½ hour of Silence in Heaven. So, we’re back where we started in April. O.K., let’s see what happens. I’m still not sending any tithes in, but I’ll be an interested observer for a while.
How will the wheels come off?
It should be interesting to hear his future talks as nothing continues to happen. When Ron explains why his ‘prophecies’ haven’t happened he is explaining as much to himself as he is to others. I don’t doubt Ron believes what he says.
In having to reconcile the conflict betweeen reality and what he believes, I believe he will ultimately realize he is not a prophet much less one of The Two Witnesses of Revelation.
Dill Weed
Somehow "Dill Weed" has managed to post comments on "Citizen X's" blog without yet being banned. While he is an end-time buff of some sort, at least he recognizes Weinland as a false prophet. Or seems to -- there's bit of ambiguity lurking there. To Dill Weed and others who may be on the fence regarding Weinland, let me mention Deuteronomy 18:20-22 as well summarized by SirPaulMuaddib on the AboveTopSecret Forum:
"Ronald Weinland pronounced some prophecies, they failed, by God's definition he is a false prophet. God does not allow "mistakes" in regards to accurate prophecy. Can you imagine a host of people standing before God? And God asking him why they didn't believe his "witness"? And them replying, well, according to your own word, he is a false prophet! And God saying "Oops!". Do you thing God works this way? No he does not."

I'll add the quote that just will not fade away:
"And for all the critics, if by the end of July and for most likely around Pentecost if nothing has clearly caused great destruction and death I will make it very clear that I was a false prophet." ILFPRW
It's very clear to us, Ron.
Ron's words will pass away, but Mike's truth will not pass away.
Patricia, no preaching on my blog, thank you. Only one misinterpretation of Revelation at a time.
The End Time.
Could there be a more important time for God’s spokesman for the Two Witnesses of Revelation to speak loud and clear?
Mr. Harrell, I’ve taken the lilberty of notifying 60 Minutes that Ron and Laura are The Two Witnesses of Revelation and they have a message they need to get out. This may give you a head start on arranging publicity for The Two Witnesses. I’ll leave the rest to you.
Some Suggestions Ron:
1. Ron, when God’s talking - take notes.
a. You’ll be less prone to ramble.
b. You’ll be able to state with certainty and specificity what God tells you.
c. You’ll be able to tell your listeners whether a prophecy will be fulfilled spiritually or literally thus avoiding confusion. Not too much to ask from a prophet, is it?
2. Ron, if you don’t understand or are unclear what God is saying, ask questions.
a. He picked you as the spokesman for the Two Witnesses, you have the right and the responsibility to ask if something is unclear or if you don’t quite understand, no? Is that too much to expect?
b. He appointed you the spokesman for the other Witness, so you are doubly responsible for getting it right, no?
c. By asking until you understand, you can avoid having to explain why things don’t happen they way you said they would happen. This goes back to clarity.
d. Don’t speculate. Just tell us what God’s saying. Give it to us straight.
e. Lastly, as I am sure you’re aware, God says if the words of prophet do not come true, do not fear him. Speak accordingly.
f. Prophets prophecy they don’t speculate.
Ron, despite what has gone here-to-fore, you have this opportunity, a reset given to yourself by yourself, to prove you are God’s End Time prophet.
Ron, I am certain God wants you to get it right. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and take notes. God will appreciate it and so will I. We’ll be listening.
What will you prove to be?
Dill Weed
Dill Weed a pretty good comment, up to the point where you said:
"Ron, despite what has gone here-to-fore, you have this opportunity, a reset given to yourself by yourself, to prove you are God’s End Time prophet."
I'm puzzled. Could you please explain why you're giving this false prophet another chance? What do you have to say in response to Deut. 18:20-22 and SirPaul's summary?
He will never claim his rightful title as a false prophet.
He simply blames God for not revealing enough information to him in order to make accurate predictions, and, unfortunately, most of his followers accept this excuse.
He has succeeded in locking people into the prison of HIS own perspective, impervious to the views of others and preventing growth by savoring alternative ideas by convincing them that the only reading or research that they should do in regards to "the end time" are with materials that he supplies them with.
Very dangerous.
son-of-a-follower, I totally agree with your comment.
And from your nickname I take it that one or both of your parents have been sucked in by the Insane Liar. If so, my condolences and I hope it doesn't end up too badly for them.
Church members and maybe even Ron himself may look at these and other sites.
I believe Ron realizes he has mispoken (I know, I'm giving him some credit here).
But, the purpose is this: To place the pressure to prove himself directly upon him, a continuation of and an extension of what you and others are doing, really. Sometimes this has to be done repeatedly before awareness dawns on the deluded, mistaken or simply dishonest.
Sincerely deluded or not, Ron is going to have to come face to face personally with himself about whether or not he really is God's prophet - and what that means or not.
And when he does, something important will happen. But it can only happen with a direct challenge to what he claims (or put another way - having a willingness to play along, to be a willing foil, but not a dupe - to create the 'space' free from condemnation for him to realize - "Hey, it ain't so. I'm wrong." or "I've been exposed." The idea is not to force this realization through confrontation/condemnation, but to create a safe space to the allow realization to occur - and the necessary reordering of belief that must follow, too.)
With the self limiting nature of Ron's claim, he is going to have to face the truth SOONER rather than later. It will become increasingly impossible for him to maintain his current stance, and if he abandons it, it will be impossible to maintain any credibility at all (even with himself - his beliefs about himself will have been disproven.)
The bear trap set by Ron himself is closing. I just want to call attention to it.
I don't believe Ron is a prophet, never did. But I want Ron to get that he is not a prophet and that can only happen, I believe, by allowing him enough 'safe' space to realize he is wrong.
Only then can important self-realizations in Ron's and others awareness occur. But one has to allow the 'space' for this to happen while at the same time serving as a catalyst - a believer or foil- who holds to account in a way difficult, if not impossible to deflect.
Ron and his believers may not get it, but, I'm optomistic it they will, particularly with the undeniable record Ron himself has helped create.

It is now Dec. and has anyone paid attention to Ron's prophesy about Dec 14th?
Duped in AZ:
Over on the right side column I have some links to other blogs about the False Prophet. Ambassador Watch has a countdown clock.
But since this is the 2nd time around the track for Weinland (first time being April 17th) many of the bloggers have gotten disinterested and stopped.
Unfortunately Weinland has restarted his Internet ad campaign and is pulling in new victims.
Dill Weed:
I don't think your strategy is going to work. Weinland had his chance to back out as he had promised in his "if by Pentecost" declaration. If he had followed through with his promise then his critics would have to respect him a little bit as being something fairly unique -- an honest false prophet. Instead he came up with timeline #2 and is more locked in with this apocalyptic fantasy.
As are the COG-PKG members including elders who read this blog.
Dill Weed, it appears that you have been outed, in more ways than one. Looking at The Weinland Witness, I noticed that your posts have been deleted.
I saw that. I don't mind though.
The Weinland Witness is more restrained in commentary than am I.
It won't be long before he pronounces Ron a false prohet. WW's just lettin Ron run out the full length of his own rope.
I think there needs to be more optimism about Ron being exposed as a false prophet.
What's the saying? All things in their due time? Something like that.
Dill Weed
Dill Weed, Citizen X gave ILFPRW more rope when he announced his 2nd timeline. I expect he'll give him even more rope when he announces his 3rd timeline. And he'll buy more rope to give Ron for his 4th timeline.
I hope your optimism proves out, but I'm trying to be realistic here. And that "due time" is soon.
I doubt it.
Dill Weed
Mike,
I think you're right about Citizen X, once he disregarded Deut. 18:22, and he definitely has, then he can give a self-proclaimed prophet all the chances he wants. It's no longer God Who is defining a true prophet, it's him!
And if it wasn't bad enough that Citizen X is "still waiting" to see if Ron is a real prophet, he's got nothing but harsh things to say about those who choose to hold him accountable for failing the test of a prophet.
He needs to wake up and smell the coffee; he's not sitting on the fence, he's following a false prophet. There's no sitting on the fence with God; you're either for Him or against Him.
I had a couple of exchanges with Citizen X before he deleted my posts - I don't mind that he did, either. My posts admittedly called Ron out.
I believe Citizen X is just allowing Ron enough rope to hang himself. I do not believe he's hanging on to the hope Ron is a prophet. That's not the feeling one gets at all from his blog.
One gets the sense he just wants to rule out all the possibility that he is.
Citizen X is being cautious. If Rons prophecies don't come true again, I believe Citizen X will cut him loose.
I believe his caution is not a dangerous thing.
My position is I'm not believing until things start specifically coming true. And not just vague guesses anyone could make.
And...
I don't give the 'spiritually fulfilled' explanations any credibility at all. That's how JWs duped me and my family and many others.
The proof is in the pudding and I want to see the pudding. And you can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat. How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?!
The saving grace in all this is that Ron has so overstepped by claiming to be one of the Witnesses of Revelation, LOL.
There's just no way to back pedal out of that one. (Chuckles) I mean just imagine trying to distance yourself from that claim and to still have any credibility at all. LOL.
I've seen some fancy word weaseling before, but that simply can't be done. Anyone who would continue to follow someone after they back away from such a claim as that deserves exactly what they get.
Ron's claims are the mill stone around his neck. You watch.
I really look forward to his attempts to get himself out of this jam. LOL. Too funny!
Dill Weed
First Citizen X said the test of Weinland as a prophet would be complete on July 16. Then when Weinland changed his timeline, he gave yet more time. He doesn't say when the "final Weinland window" will close.
Since he continues to give Weinland a chance even into the second timeline, why wouldn't you think he'll do the same when Weinland comes up with his 3rd timeline?
My position is - Deut. 18:22 has eliminated him as a true prophet. I don't need to give him more chances, in fact, I believe it's wrong to do so. Ron claimed to be speaking for God, what he said did not come to pass, he was presumptuous and even admitted it initially, he didn't repent, he continues to claim to be a prophet - he's not - finished, stick a fork in him, he's done.
What I'm interested in now is not whether anything he said is going to happen, most of what he said was taken right out of Revelation anyway so it didn't originate from him; I'm wondering what excuses he'll continue to give and how many people will continue to give him chance after chance, "waiting" to see the proof that God is really speaking to him and giving him an accurate timeline.
The people that are still waiting are obviously banking on Deut. 18:22 being wrong, which would give them a legitimate reason to give him endless chances to get this right. I'm banking on this scripture being right, which means no way is God going to use someone who has disregarded His word the way Ron has.
I don't think Citizen X is being cautious, I think he's choosing to go against God's word by saying Ron could still be a true prophet after his prophecies have failed, and that is dangerous. In the book of Jeremiah, God said the false prophet teaches people rebellion against God, so in my opinion, anyone who lines up with a false prophet instead of against him puts himself in a bad place.
